17th Dubai International Food Safety Conference

As part of the 17th Dubai International Food Safety Conference, HealthyPath and Dubai Municipality organized a session under “Accelerating Food Security in the UAE Through Policies, Innovation, and Research" to delve into governmental policies, research and initiatives taken by farmers aimed at ensuring food self-sufficiency in the UAE.

The first session featured key representatives, from the public sector, to discuss key strategies and policies taken to ensure the localization of the food system and the outlook on UAE's food security, in line with the National Food Security Strategy.

The second session featured local producers and shed light on methods to empowering local farmers and the role of the private sector in agri-food innovation.

The third session explored the nexus between academia, research, and food security solutions. Panelists, from academia, discussed the importance of research for evidence-based decision-making and innovative solutions.

Overall, the sessions highlighted the UAE's commitment to achieving food self-sufficiency through comprehensive policies, innovation, and research. The collaboration between government agencies, academia, and research institutions is a crucial aspect of driving food tech innovation and ensuring a resilient and secure food system in the country.
